#31 HESITANT to fly EXPERIMENTAL HELICOPTERS.

Mar 20, 2019

I have always been HESITANT to fly EXPERIMENTAL HELICOPTERS.

"Good Evening Kenny, I’ve been watching your coffee with Kenny videos and enjoying the short and to the point Q&A format.

Really appreciate you putting this content out there for free! You posted a video a few days ago about using experimental aircraft as a cheaper way to build time.

I was looking forward to seeing the comments on this, but can’t seem to find the video now? I’m torn, because I own an experimental PPC, have flown in quite a few experimental airplanes (warbirds, carbon cubs, Vans RV series, etc), and always felt very safe in all of them.

I got my rotorcraft add on in a R22 (which coincidentally, a lot of pilots bash on as well), however, I have always been hesitant to get into an experimental helicopter.

Not sure why, but it’s obvious you feel the same way. I’ve never had the opportunity to fly an experimental helicopter, and perhaps I’d feel differently if I did?

I like time tested proven things! I decided to do this video again after posting one but taking it down because I didn't like it. My intent is to get people's thoughts and opinions below the video, and get discussions going.

After being ejected from an aircraft I prefer to fly aircraft that are FAA certified and maintained by mechanics that I know! I just don't think it's gong to be as safe in an experimental aircraft. Please chime in!
