Preparing For My Robinson R-44 Cross Country

Apr 28, 2023

Hello HOGS fans!

I'm Kenny Keller, the creator of Helicopter Online Ground School. Today, I'm excited to announce that we have a new behind-the-scenes video covering my cross country initial planning.

I grabbed a camera and just started shooting while I was rounding up all my necessary gear and electronics. I wanted people to see behind the scenes of planning a real-world cross country trip in a laid-back, spur-of-the-moment, fun video.

In the video, I point out the do's and don'ts from my cross country trips from the past. I'm not here to give you a lecture or a tutorial. Instead, I want to give you a glimpse of the thought process behind planning a trip.

The trip in question is a 342-nautical-mile journey back to the HOGS hangar in Indiana. We'll be flying in a Robinson R-44 helicopter, which is always a thrill. And trust me when I say that this trip will be filled with fun, laughter, and a whole lot of adventure.

Throughout the video, I'll be sharing my insights and experiences from my previous trips, all while keeping the mood light-hearted and fun. You'll see how I pack my gear, organize my electronics, and plan my route. You'll get a first-hand look at how I make my pre-flight preparations and conduct my risk assessments.

But most importantly, I want you to see that planning a cross country trip isn't just about following a set of rules and guidelines. It's about having fun, exploring new places, and experiencing the thrill of flight.

So sit back, grab some popcorn, and enjoy the show. Join me on this exciting journey as we take to the skies and explore the world from a bird's-eye view. And who knows, maybe you'll be inspired to plan your own cross country trip.

Thanks for watching, and as always, keep soaring!
