Helicopter Accident Review

It is so important to do a two step process on every pickup to a hover and equally important is the pre-take off hover checks. Would that have made a difference here? I do this every time, it doesn't matter what kind of helicopter I am flying...... Jet Ranger, Robinson R22, R44, Enstrom, Schweizer, or a Eurocopter.

Get the aircraft light on the skids and then neutralize all movement before lifting to a hover. Then hover and take a close look at the instruments for anything operating out of range. Make sure the helicopter sounds and feels normal. Do a power pedal turn to see if there is plenty of available power.

Follow these simple rules every time you go fly and you just may avoid becoming a statistic. Helicopter Online Ground School does its very best to provide the most current training possible with a sincere concern for pilot safety.
